Intro
Hello all, and welcome to Aural Inventories. This is where I hope to share all things aural - recommended listening, playlists, aural reviews of concerts, performances, and films, and my thoughts on how sound affects our society and our perception of it.
This all started a couple months ago at the wedding of two good friends of mine. During the reception, another friend asked me for a CD of my favorite music. I said "hmmm..it may have to be 2 CDs, but sure!" So, over the next few days I started pulling tracks for her 2 CDs, and by the time I got through 'D' in my collection, I had amassed over 13 hours of music! At that point, I knew that I would have to make it a series of themed mix CDs. Then I figured if I was going to be going to all the trouble, I might as well make copies for everyone I know, and send them out once a month with handmade covers and such. And when I realized that there about 100 people I want to send it to, it all started to seem a little daunting. Somehow I ended up thinking a blog would be the answer, so here we are.
